I don't much care for Islam or it's backward medieval stance on - well almost everything. But if people want to wear any particular piece of clothing, or not as the case may be, then that is up to them. This is an excellent riposte to the generally silly reaction to World Hijab Day and makes for a thought provoking read. What we choose to wear should be our own choice and certainly not be dictated by or even influenced by the bizarre diktat of a nasty interpretation of an ancient book of fairy tales.
(This post, about Islam is the 666th on this blog - weird huh!)
I think that this is a very cynical and deliberate piece of dawah but about by Muslim organisations which will, of course, be taken up by deluded Islamised, stupid, leftist women.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we'll see a "wear a mini-skirt" day in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan or Sudan? Or a "support Israel" day in Gaza?
What's next? FGM day? Marry a child day? (Paedophiles would love that.) Kill a Jew day?
Whilst I respect the right of people to wear what they want, it should be in line with general UK custom. So, no, you can't wear a niqab or burqa or balaclava or other mask in a shop, pub, restaurant, petrol station, bank and so on and so forth.
It's good to see the ex-Muslim organisations taking aim at this crap too.
Agreed.
DeleteWhen we talk about any other celebration day then it's really great but when it comes to Hijab Day then it looks silly. I don't know why people always vilifying Islam Reputation.
