Ignorance of the law is no defence...

...unless you are one of those 'special' people;

Muslim abuser who 'didn't know' that sex with a girl of 13 was illegal is spared jail

In his defence it was claimed that Rashid was naive.

 When Judge Stokes said Rashid ‘must have known it was illegal, unless he was going round with his eyes shut’, defence lawyer Laban Leake said reports suggested Rashid had a ‘degree of sexual naivety’.
But not too naive to have pursued a 13 year old with the apparent intention of having sex, to wit;

They then met up in Nottingham, where Rashid had booked a room at a Premier Inn.
The girl told police they stayed at the hotel for two hours and had sex after Rashid went to the bathroom and emerged wearing a condom.
However to balance this piece of piss-boiling nonsense the Mail does carry this story:
 Masked gunman dies after being pinned down and disarmed by customers in bookies
Yey!! We need to see more of this kind of thing. I hope they get some sort of public service award.

  1. So he's too "sheltered" to know that having sex with a 13-year-old girl is wrong, but he knows to wear a condom during sex?

    It's not just Islam featuring here, although that is a major part of the story. If this poor girl had been the daughter of sharp-elbowed middle-class professionals, the predator would be behind bars.

  3. A interesting brace of headlines to contrast, MITB. The common link is the ineffective judicial system, requisitioned to serve the legal profession exclusively.
