The kangaroo parliament north of the border has an ongoing 'consultation' concerning the licensing of airguns in Scotland. Whilst I suspect that it is a consultation in name only and they have already decided on their course of action irrespective of the opinions expressed and/or the ratio of those opinions, there is still a little over a month to go. The consultation ends on March 15th and full details can be found here;
http://www.basc.org.uk/en/media/key_issues.cfm/cid/660A3BEA-0A85-4F9E-B4A4B7FF3E36033D
The BASC website states that: 'The Scottish Government has confirmed with BASC that anyone can respond
to this consultation, whether they live in Scotland or anywhere else in
the UK'.
I strongly suggest that you do make a response and the BASC website has all the details of how to go about this plus a template response for your convenience. You may think that as it is Scotland it doesn't matter, you may even feel that as the Scots voted for devolution they can all go to hell in a handcart of their own choosing. But remember that Scotland is so often the proving ground for laws later foist on the rest of the UK. If you really think that it is nothing more that a minor matter of provincial legislation then take a few moments to read through the pdf available at the BASC website here;
Proposals for Licensing Air Weapons in Scotland
Pay particular attention to the sections from page 8 through to page 18, Of course, it's all about safety and thinking of the kiddiewinkies.
Be afraid, this shit will be coming south soon.
