N.Y. first state to tighten gun laws after Newtown

These new measures include;

The new laws provide for an immediate ban on semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and pistols with a "military-style feature," such as a flash suppressor or a bayonet mount. Guns that had been legal but are being banned would be grandfathered in, but their owners must register their firearms with the state or sell them out of state within one year.

 Which is simply pointless as the graphic shows.

 

Other aspects of the new measure seem to bear the hallmarks of the sort of overbearing restrictions placed on European gun owners and particularly British gun owners. Will other states follow the lead of New York?  Some will I'm sure, and that will cause a gradual shift until the whole of the USA sufferts under federal laws to restrict gun ownership and usage. It will take a while but it will happen if it is not stopped. Just take a look at the evolution of the gun control laws as applied to Great Britain.
