Surely it is time that we were able:
To defend ourselves and our property without fear of prosecution.
To have access to the tools to do just that.
To have a police force that supported the law abiding and was keen to facilitate their efforts to tackle crime.
To have a firearm licensing system that balances the desire to own a weapon against a good reason not to allow that weapon. Instead of the other way around.
To have our government accept that self defence is a valid reason to own a handgun or a taser or pepper /CS gas spray and to support the possession of weapons of defence.
This is what the bad guys should be facing:-

Over the years the public have been systematically disarmed under the pretext of the police will protect them.
ReplyDeletelt is an absolute joke, the best the police can do is apprehend the assailant but by that time it is too late for the victim.
The criminals are armed, the police are armed but the public are not allowed to be. What deterent is that to criminals? .... sweet FA. They know the public are not armed (and by this l don't mean guns, l mean the pepper sprays etc) so the criminals have easy targets.
The politicians who bring in these regulations don't live in the real world otherwise they'd never bring in such ridiculous laws.
I have no problem with the public arming themselves with anyway necessary and also to educate themselves on how to avoid being prosecuted by the police ... because they, aswell as the criminals, view the public as easy targets.
Couldn't agree more. Why the political elite beleive that the police should hold the monopoly on self defence is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteI pointed out in a recent post, the police carry battons and pepper spray for defence but if the public carry the exact same weapons they are automatically "Offensive" weapons.
A pasty-faced, grinning Glenn Beck would certainly have me runnung for the hills.
